Regionally Accredited Online Schools
Sunday, January 15th, 2012
When it comes to getting a degree online you should keep in mind the two most crucial factors in order to succeed at it. First of all, you should conduct your search among the so called nationally accredited online colleges. This is a key factor because if your online college is not accredited you will simply waste your time and money. The main difference between nationally accredited online schools and regionally accredited online schools is that nationally accredited online schools are accredited by the federal government in every single US state and regionally accredited online schools are only accredited in some specific state by that state’s government. If the school is just regionally accredited you should avoid it. Another factor that you should keep in mind when choosing an online college is the availability of financial aid. If the online college of your choice doesn’t provide its stdents with financial aid just simply avoid it. Remember, that you can save a lot of money on your education if you qualify for a financial aid.

Lifeguards Moving to EMTs
Saturday, September 3rd, 2011
Lifeguards have to be adept in many skills to adequately perform their duties while on the job. Lifeguards are essentially first responders that are on scene at aquatic environments that have a higher likelihood of injury. A major focus of lifeguard training is with first aid and first response. Lifeguards have to take on the role of an EMT, primarily in water based environments. Lifeguards are required to know CPR, first aid, and in some cases how to use an AED or an external defibrillator. Due to this overlap in duties, it is not uncommon for an individual to begin as a lifeguard and as they mature in their careers, shift their attention toward becoming an EMT, first responder, ambulance operator or paramedic. Certifications for both are similar, and the CPR certification achieved while working as a lifeguard may actually be enough to directly translate into required EMT pre-certifications requirements.

It's What I Want to Do
Wednesday, August 10th, 2011
I have chosen my career path, and I am working towards my degree to be a database administrator. I think that this will be fun, and it will be something that I can get used to. I love computers and the internet and everything related to it. I feel like when I can get a job that will allow me to do some good with the computer and networks, I will just love it. Besides, it’s nothing that I don’t already do. People know that have been great with the computer ever since I was young. I think that going for this role is really no surprise to my parents at all, and they are really encouraging me to pursue my dreams. I am glad I have cool parents who understand what I really want. I know that it just matters a lot to me to achieve my goals and not disappoint them.

Having Difficulty in Choosing from Available LPN Programs
Friday, July 29th, 2011
I have searched for a program that would best fit my standards but it’s just so hard to choose because there are too many options for me. I have a shortlist of schools that I can possibly enroll in. I have ten technical training schools and five online schools at hand. I don’t know how else to shorten the list. I have made a thorough research on the LPN Programs that each school provides. I am quite satisfied with them all. Although the schools have different subjects offered, there would always be something unique in one particular school which keeps me from deleting it from my list.
I already asked my parents to help me choose a school. They went over the list and ignored the virtual schools I have chosen. Therefore, if I would follow my parents’ advice, I would have to study about being an LPN in a traditional school. I’m not sure how I feel about that. I was exposed to a generation that thrives in the virtual realm and I sort of think that virtual schools can get me far. It’s a pity that old people don’t think along the same lines.

Government Aid Shrinking for College Education
Tuesday, July 26th, 2011
It used to be you count on state colleges to ensure the ability to receive a college education at a reasonable costs to students, and have a great deal of funding avaialable to help students pay their way thru school. It seems that those days are coming to an end thanks to the crushing fiscal situation that has gripped state budgets as well as federal. The first indication of change has been the vast number of state funding scholarships that have begun to stiffen requirements for students wishing to enroll.
While initially many scholarships for moms had no requirements aside from need and a high school diploma, many are now requiring minimum academic achievement. SAT and ACT scores are now being accounted for where they were not, and in some cases they are looking at GPA. This could be a problem for women who are returning to school sans a traditional high school diploma, as many single mothers with children often return to school after an extended hiatus.
Secondly, the number of scholarships that are being offered from state funded sources have begun drop off in quantity. This is true not only in the number of scholarships, but the amount of money these scholarships and is becoming retroactive for students who currently have the scholarships. This creates instances where students may have a shortfall for the coming tuition year. So if you have received one of several education grants for women, you need to make sure that the monies you have obtained are not at risk of putting you a financial short fall for the coming academic year.
Students should not wait until the start of the school year to make sure that their financially sound for the new year. By staying tuned into your funding situation you can ensure that you still have an opportunity to tap other funding sources if necessary.

Social workers generally need to have some specific skills such as communication skills and the ability to listen and genuinely care fort those in need of help. A social worker can be able to get discounts off the cost of their training in some circumstances. A degree is essential for social worker training and most employers will choose candidates with one of these, over those who have not. Ultrasound Technician Job
Friday, July 1st, 2011
My wife is pregnant currently and she is looking for a new career once she is ready to go back into the work force. We were talking to our ultrasound technician and she was telling us about how her job is and the schooling involved in becoming a licensed ultrasound tech. As it turns out, there are many ultrasound technician schools that specialize in getting you in and out of class and place you into a job that averages about $45,000 a year, not bad for a Monday through Friday job and you’re out of work by 6 p.m. Daily. So my wife is really considering this line of work because she likes babies so much and the ultrasound tech almost always gives good news. Although, when bad news does need to be given I just hope she has the stomach to deliver the news without having a nervous breakdown.

Filling out the Forms to Get a Student Loan
Saturday, June 25th, 2011
Well, I just decided what college I’m going to. Now I have to see about getting some student loans. I just went and picked up all the forms that I have to fill out, and they’re really long. I hope I’ll be able to fill them all out and answer all the questions correctly. The counselors told me that I need to hurry up and get it done quickly that way I might be further ahead in line to get any scholarships and might be available. I’m not sure if getting scholarships in getting student loan is actually uses the same form or if they are two completely different forms altogether. I guess that would be a good question to ask the people at the school. For now, I’m just going to start filling out all the forms and see how far I get. I hope we can get a loan that will pay for all of my schooling until I get out and then after I get out I can start paying for all the classes that have already taken.
