Doing Nothing at All

Wednesday, December 21st, 2011

Pretty Little Liars S02E02 ~ En720PI am bored out of my wits. I never thought doing nothing can be this harmful to your health. Since we are moving to Switzerland by the end of the year, I decided to turn in my resignation last month effective December 19th. I thought that it would be great to just focus on the holidays and relax prior to our impending move.

I have been working since I was 16 years old. I do get a lot of vacation time, but it never felt boring. Perhaps, it is because I was always doing something even when I was on vacation. Traveling, home projects and all that jazz. This is the only time I am on a real break, you know what I mean?

Man! I wish I would be able to adjust quickly and find a job in Switzerland. I do not want to be doing nothing for a long time!

Driving Yourself to Airport

Friday, November 18th, 2011

I have found that driving myself to the airport is cheaper and more convenient for everyone if you drive yourself to the airport. Nobody has to worry over cheap airport parking, nobody has to get up early to make sure you get there with enough time to check in and nobody has to inconvenience themselves on your behalf. That is how I prefer to do it. I take public transport to the airport, that way I need not worry about the airport at all and I am pretty much sorted out, without causing a hassle to anybody. I don’t expect anybody to get up early on my behalf, nor spend money on a lunch or dinner in the early morning hours or late in the evening. Inconveniencing people just for a lift seem to be such an inconsiderate thing to do and I would prefer I’d rather do it myself and be considerate to the people in my life in the process.

See the Statue of Liberty with the New York Pass

Tuesday, September 20th, 2011

The Statue of Liberty is one of over 50 NYC tourist attractions you visit with the New York Pass.

After 9/11 the Statue of Liberty wasn’t available for full visitation, but now it’s open again! And with the New York Pass in hand you can really get the full experience of visiting the statue which is among the most famous in the world, if not the very most famous.

The statue was given to the United States by France in the late 19th century and it has been greeting people in the greatest city in the world ever since!

It’s a great thing to see up close with your own eyes. After seeing it in so many TV shows and movies, it’s just an amazing experience to really see it for yourself up close and personal.

If you want to have “touristy” experiences like this then the New York Pass is highly recommended, it saves a lot of time & money.

First off, we of course went to Disney’s Epcot and Magic Kingdom. Do the best things first right? It was a great time – though chasing the kids who were running from one thing to another really hurt my back! In any case, it was a lovely time. Then, we just bummed out at our hotel. We swam in the pool, cooked our own food and had genuine family bonding time. This is something I definitely will not forget!

Jamie’s 30 Minute Meals a Reality?

Thursday, November 11th, 2010

Everyone’s favourite provocatively nicknamed Essex born culinary genius Jamie Oliver seems to have tv series after tv series airing these days. No longer have we witnessed his healthy eating evangelism in the U.S than we are subjected to the lad-with-a-lisp’s new show ‘Jamie’s 30 Minute Meals’. In this series Jamie cooks a series of meals that incorporate a main course and a dessert in under 30 minutes. There is no doubt over the fact this is possible as we see him concoct these masterpieces in real time right before our eyes, but whether we could do it is another matter. I personally can’t do anything in 30 minutes, let alone cook something that passes as a meal, I’m usually late to my Edinburgh airport parking job as I take so long getting ready so when my wife asked me to make a complex pasta dish complete with dessert from the show it ended up taking more more like 230 minutes. And I burned it. Moral of the story, don’t try!

Travelling Coaches

Saturday, August 28th, 2010

In most countries in Europe, not all people are equipped with cars and other vehicles. The main of travelling is by a train, bus or a coach. Buses are normal sights in the roads of the biggest cities of Europe along with coaches.
Transportation in Europe has greatly evolved in many centuries. Travelling coaches are mere evolution of buses that we are more familiar with. Modern coaches nowadays are more reliable and quieter. They are usually fitted with air-conditioning and toilets. Coaches are designed for longer travel. Most passengers choose coaches rather than buses. Buses are often crowded while coaches are quiet, clean and cozy. They are not designed for heavy loads. Travelling in a coach is rather relaxing than any other means of land transportation. Another great thing about coaches is that they are not expensive to ride on. Coaches are very commuter friendly. There are even coaches that allow the entrance of pets. Backpacking in europe has also been proven to be an effective and memorable hobby for most people.
