Professional Guide to the Pursuit of Happiness
Written by Deborah Wong
Are we all truly as "fine" or "great" as we claim to be in our standardized responses to the usual greeting of "How are you?". Our inherent self-consciousness and pride usually prevent us from admitting that we are far from "fine", much less, seek professional help or counseling for our emotional and mental issues.

Moreover, the negative stigmatized image of counseling, whereby one's acquiescence to undergo counseling is taken as a sure sign of abject weakness and vulnerability, seeks to further compound the existing problem. As cliché as it might sound, it is the truth that there is no happiness without action.

Karung Guni Man: Of Rag & Bone
Written by Alicia Tan
The neighbourhood Karung Guni (Rag-and-Bone) Man strode into the porch conversing very loudly in a mishmash of different dialects on his mobile phone. No surprises there until I paid a closer look at the model of his mobile phone. The hip quotient of most of our mobile phones would pale in comparison to his. It was starkly incongruous with his thin white singlet and glistening bald head.

Read on as hooked chats up with the friendly neighbourhood Karung Guni Man, who is ever-nearby, yet ever elusive to us all.
