Well, yes it does. Singapore's first and only professional basketball team - the Singapore Slingers - took the festivities up a notch with a resounding 119 - 102 victory over the National Basketball League (NBL)'s defending champions - the Brisbane Bullets. Now, that calls for some celebration!

5566: Bravo Brotherhood!
Written by Teo Shu May
5566, the Taiwanese boy-to-man band, recently swept into town on a blast of cold air, after making a quick stop in Beijing. Despite the sudden uncomfortable rise in temperature, they were still wrapped up in thick leather jackets during the press conference of their latest album, Bravo.

From their similar attire to the way they handled the questions, it was soon clear that 5566 are more than just pretty boys - they are a band of brothers with a mission.

Queen of Queens: The Disenchantment
Written by Akshay Kothari
There were eleven heavily made-up girls on the makeshift stage under bright lights. Below and all around them, a mass of people were crammed together, trying to get a good look (and in most cases, a good drink as well). Disco strobe lights flashed, music blared and the party was on.

Jacques Loussier Trio Plays Bach: Encore!
Written by Corinna Choh
Reinvention is the wheel of change and with Jacques Loussier at the helm of the wheel, change is truly appreciated. It is a privilege to know the original version of a classical piece of work, be a spectator to its reworked version, and be blown away by both for their unique characters that harmoniously converge to a similar focal point of essence.

Jacques Loussier paid a most complimentary and respectful homage to the legendary classical compositions of Baroque master Johann Sebastian Bach through his spectacular rework of Bach's classic pieces in his concert at the Esplanade Theatre on the 11th of December.

Megadeth – Tour of Duty
Written by Siddhartha Menon

Okay, I'll admit it. I've never really been a big fan of Megadeth. I mean, I heard more of Metallica than Megadeth back in my youth, and those who know metal would definitely know about the historical, nay, epic dispute between the two bands.

But politics aside, if you weren't at Fort Canning last Friday for Megadeth, you missed one hell of a show.
