Located at 169 Joo Chiat Road, Aspire café is in the heart of Singapore's cultural district. A holistic centre with a wellness theme, it combines wellness through dance classes, spas, facials and they even have their own line of facial products!

The café and dance studio are located in the same shop house, and customers usually go for dance classes before dropping by the café for a quick bite.

Dynamic sibling trio Jessica, Kane and their brother decided to open this lifestyle café together, marrying their love for dance with food. The trio felt that most cafés had a niche concept and decided on a general approach, providing customers with a wide range of services from dance classes to free wireless Internet.

The décor of the café resembles a warm, happy house with bright colors, plush cushions and soft lighting. Apart from dance classes, the café provides comic books, VCD viewing, wireless Internet, karaoke, BBQ, spas, facials, eyebrow trimming and even board games!

Unlike most establishments, all you have to do is buy a drink or some snacks and you can enjoy all these services at no extra charge, without a time limit. Drinks are priced from $3.80 onwards and snacks can go as low as $3.80.

Aspire café conducts dance classes such as salsa, rumba, latin cha cha, hip hop, disco rock, jive, tango and waltz every night at a reasonable price of $70 to $100 for 8 lessons. Classes are extremely small, so students are ensured full attention from the instructor. Private lessons can also be arranged for $70 an hour.

In line with the dance theme, the café specially created drinks with quirky dance monikers such as mango tango, minty hop, foxtrot twist and rumba passion. HOOKED had the chance to try the minty hop, which is a refreshing minty drink. Other interesting drinks include fruity fizz, milkshakes, teas and authentic Vietnamese coffee.

The café's famous dishes include their chicken stew and beef stew served with bread. Desserts include the famous ultimate brownie that costs only $3.80. For an extra dollar, you can enjoy two pieces of the brownies that are simply delectable with two scoops of ice cream, cream corn flakes and those nostalgic chocolate biscuit snacks - Collon chocolate pieces!

The café is only 7-8 months old yet many customers have already held private parties there. Rental of the café costs $100 for 4 hours and the entire venue fee is waived when you cater food from them. Do swing by Aspire Café if you are in the vicinity and check it out! HOOKED
