Recalling classic cartoon tunes is one of those nostalgic moments accompanied by fond memories. The bouncy joyful tunes that remind us of our silly dances and our imitations of our favorite cartoons.

1. Looney Tunes

        The catchy theme song of Warner Brother’s spectacular Looney Tunes series is an adapted instrumental version of the original tune “The Merry-Go-Round-Broke-Down”, written in 1937 by Cliff Frank and Dave Franklin. The memorable closing features Porky Pig stuttering “T-that’s all, folks!”

        Although nowadays, we hardly see the cartoons on mainstream TV, we know that that’s not all for the classic series as it still remains an important part of an animation heritage.

2. Animaniacs

        Animaniacs, the second animated series produced by Steven Spielberg and Warner Brothers, was a rather musical cartoon with each episode featuring at least one original score.

        For its music, the cartoon used a forty-piece orchestra and although it was an expensive show to produce, the large orchestral music and unique pieces set the show apart from other animations.

        Even if you can't remember all the tunes, you would at least remember its opening music, which is undeniably one of the most upbeat, haunting and to a certain extent, annoying cartoon tunes.

3. Pink Panther

        The Pink Panther’s jazz based theme song by Henry Mancini is certainly one of the most popular classic tunes – and a mere click of the mouse on Google proves that.

        The instrumental composition was nominated for the 1964 Academy Award for Original Music, reached the Top 10 on the Billboard chart and won three Grammy Awards. How’s that for classic?

4. Captain Planet

        Captain Planet was one of television’s biggest cartoon series. Its opening theme song with a well-remembered message “The Power is Yours” was a great hit among young children.
