charles

Charles is a 32 years old freelance photographer, as well as a life science instructor, who graduated from the University of Queensland about 8 years ago.

Though living like the rest of us, he dreams of leading a slightly better than ordinary life, and beyond the challenges and humdrum of an ordinary life, to have the time to do things he likes and spend time with his loved ones.

1) What do you do during your free time?

What I love to do most is taking photos of anything that crosses my line of sight, and talking to people in a meaningful way.

2) How do you juggle your career and leisure activities?

Right now, my career and leisure are all mixed up. I am doing what I like most of the time: photography, teaching, volunteer work, movie and music appreciation, singing, dancing, chatting with friends and family, etc.

I guess all this juggling boils down to what matters the most to you. If they matter, you will do them, no matter how much time you need to squeeze in.

3) Do you have problems connecting with much younger people?

A friend once described me as a tri-band handphone (that was in the past, so I don't know if you know what I'm talking about). I will always try to put myself in other people's shoes, and I think that helps me a lot in connecting with people who are different, either chronologically or culturally.

4) Where is your favourite hangout?

Home is the best, (because) I get everything I need when I want to be undisturbed. If I want to interact with people, I visit my welfare organisation - MYG Reach Out Project at Margaret Drive - every Saturday, where most of my best buddies are.

5) What is the most adventurous thing that you have done?

I have done many adventurous things in my own terms, but never compare them to see which is the most adventurous.

Maybe quitting without a job and doing occasional freelancing for a year can be counted as adventurous? Or behaving like the youngest member of the Youth Expedition Project team I joined (although I am actually the oldest) without the fear of being mocked at?
