The local dance scene has flourished over the years, and The Dance Ensemble is testament to that. Over the last 15 years, it has doubled its stable of dancers and choreographers.
Our local dancers are definitely comparable in skill and technique to their peers in the global platform who gave a strong showing in the finale of the Dance Reflections, JAMUAN Bisu ...PARAdis_e...?, where modern dancers from Indonesia, Europe and Japan came together to retell the Minangkabau myth, Bundo Kanduang.
Dance Reflections therefore, proved yet again to be an event worth marking down in our annual calendars as we get blown away each year by its magnificent display of a multitude of dance forms that are juxtaposed against each other in their individuality but intertwined in their theme.
I have no doubt that it will continue to impress and break new grounds in the years ahead, especially with the surge of up-and-coming talents in the local dance arena, with the help of dance connoisseurs like Zaini. hooked
