As Tony put
it, the four of them treat each other as "friends and brothers."
When he said that they have had no serious conflicts thus far, the others nodded
their heads vigorously. Jason even joked that they can still see each
other being close friends ten years down the road, and playing with
each other's babies. With one of them (Zax) already a father, this might not be too far off in the future.
Despite
their age, these four still remain boys at heart, because
when asked what Olympic sports they would like to participate
in, given their support for the Beijing Olympics 2008, they perked up considerably to answer the question.
Sam started the
ball rolling (pun unintended) with a bid for soccer, as he said that
he has always been good at sports. However, he wanted to try swimming
too, just that he would have to improvise due to his relative inability.
That led to huge guffaws all around as Zax, the wisecracking one, started
imitating how Sam could possibly swim the breaststroke with one arm, and
freestyle with the other.
Perhaps Zax was more qualified to tease Sam
about his swimming inadequacies, because the former chose swimming as
his Olympic sport. Jason let on that he prefers winter sports like skiing,
and also games like baseball. Tony then elaborated that they actually
have a star baseball team within Jungiery Star Management Company, but
Zax started complaining that he does not enjoy baseball because it involves
"too much waiting and looking at the ball".
It would seem as if
Tony was the most athletic of the four, because he chose volleyball
as his Olympic sport, and said that it was because he enjoys exercising,
and has been playing it for a long time.
That
ended the press conference on a high, and as they left to do their
photoshoot, we were left with an impression of a group that genuinely
cares for their fans.
As Zax said, "We want our fans to grow with
us. Since they cannot see our personal growth outside the spotlight, our albums are the only way for
them to see how much we've grown."
Bravo heralds the start of 5566's transition into a more mature and critically-aware direction - one which is sure to stand them in good stead in the future. HOOKED
