//HOOKED

Brewerkz PDF Print E-mail
Written by Grace Yan
Unhappy with the general standard and variety of beers? Why not create your own beer! That’s exactly what Devin Kimble and Daniel Flores did, creating Brewerkz. Hooked visits the local restaurant & microbrewery for great food and of course beer!

Located at Riverside Point, Brewerkz is the ideal place for hanging out with friends, watching sports or grabbing a beer. The restaurant & microbrewery that overlooks Singapore River has great food and wins hands down for ambience.

Voted Singapore's Best New Bar by readers of IS Magazine in1997, Brewerkz also holds the title for "Best Dining Experience" by Singapore Tourism Board's Tourism Award in 1999 and more recently, a gold medal from the Association of Brewers (AOB) World Beer Cup 2004.

You’ll be spoilt for choice at Brewerkz with 12 starters, 13 main dishes, pizzas, burgers and lots of other great choices. We tried the Nachos ($12.99) with double cheese and beer chili. Dipped in Sour Cream, Salsa and Guacamole (Avocado), the Nachos were simply a delightful combination. We were a little worried about the green Guacamole initially but our fears were allayed the moment we popped the Nacho with Guacamole into our mouths. The Guacamole tasted very refreshing, leaving us craving for more. The highlight of the dish was the melted cheese that stretched when pulled, and the fresh Nachos that crunched happily in our mouths. Trust us, after tasting the Nachos and Brewerkz, you will definitely think twice about ordering Nachos at the cinema.

For the main course, we tried the Grilled Portobello Sandwich with goat cheese, basil, grilled onions and the crowd’s favorite Brewerkz Burger.

Jingxin Says…

Even as a vegetarian, there were plenty of dishes to choose from, not just the salads. After much consideration, I finally decided on the grilled Portobello sandwich ($16.99). Although the menu already stated that the ingredients included a large mushroom, I didn’t think much into it. However, when it was served, I exclaimed at the size of the mushroom - it was indeed large. Complemented with goat cheese, basil and grilled onions, all between two pieces of toast, I couldnt wait to savour it. The taste was not as fantastic as it looks but was enough to make a big girl happy though I secretly wished there were more cheese.
