Page 4 of 4 Bigger is Better
As said in Hokkien, Bao ka liao!
They don't call it the multi-purpose hall for nothing. It is huge, and many sports hold their activities here, including fencing, aerobics and exams (brain sport).
As a venue, big is definitely better. Charlene (vice-chairperson of the Aerobics club) considers the sports halls most suitable for holding their regular aerobics classes, compared to the SRC dance studios.
The only downside of the sports halls is the trouble in getting them. Bookings for the sports halls for use have to be done by the clubs in advance, to the extent that they are usually well done ahead of the school semester.
Kiasu? Or just a classic case of demand exceeding supply?
A parting note
For the average NUS undergrad, the variety of sports facilities do is certainly adequate, but as the saying goes, quality is better than quantity.
Good news though - most of the facilities listed are slated for upgrading in the future. As students, we could adopt a wait-and-see approach, but perhaps it'd be better to be proactive and "enlighten" the SRC management of other areas in which the facilities can be improved - ala the netball team.
It's our school after all. hooked
