"Fast Food is equivalent to pornography, nutritionally speaking."

The above quote is eye-catching and it applies very specifically to beauty foods. As we all know, fast food is the root of all bodily evils, from potentially making us overweight to causing diseases in the future.

Since this HOOKED issue is all about beauty, we at HOOKED have done research to find out which food to avoid and which foods to stock up on. These foods are part of your everyday fare and do not cost a fortune.

clip_image002Acne affects 80% of females and 70% of males, and this includes the seemingly perfect Hollywood celebrities. In fact, in year 2003, actress Cameron Diaz had been told to withdraw from a movie premiere due to her skin flare-ups. Food allergies are the number one cause of acne, and the removal of the offending food from your diet can clear your skin. However, according to http://www.foodallergysolutions.com/, dairy food seems to be main cause of these pesky skin allergies. Hence, in future, you may want to cut down on ice cream and cheese when eating.

Kidman is apparently famous for being fearful of the sun and perhaps that is the secret to her flawless skin.  nicole

For those who wish to obtain Nicole Kidman's figure, try to avoid celebrity diets without first consulting a nutritionist. Despite the popularity of these diets, especially the Atkins diet, they come with side effects such as bad breath, kidney problems and even death.  It is tempting to reduce fats as fast as possible, but the traditional way of frequent exercising and healthy eating is still the way to go. The traditional way may a longer time to take effect, but it is definitely healthier if you do not overdo it.

All in all, in order to project health and beauty on the exterior of ourselves, we need to be wary of what we eat. Although there are no scientific links between food and skin disorders such as acne, doctors don't deny that whatever you put in your mouth can damage your skin's health. Hence, cutting down on caffeine, greasy food and refined sugars won't hurt.

Makes us wonder why we pay to eat fast food, chips and other greasy food- only to have them harm our body in future. Hooked

Uh, aside from telling us to cut down on dairy products (which does not even apply to everyone in the first place), and commonsense cut-down-on-greasy-food advice, which part of this article actually tells you to "bring out that glow from within"?! ... Um, was the article written under a tight deadline or something?

Hehe. 1st paragraph talks about research done by Hook team on food and beauty. Spot on in the 1st comment. There is no mention of food and inner spirtuality. Why do Muslims, Catholics, Hindhus etc fast? Why are certain religions keen on promoting vegetarianism? Besides the usual physical benefits one can gain, there is a deeper symbolic meaning that cleanses one's soul by abiding such laws.
